Entertaining performing arts with Figaro’s Simultext® System.

Business collaboration with Figaro Systems, Inc.

01 February 2008
Kotobuki Corporation
We are pleased to announce that Kotobuki Corporation (Tokyo, Japan) formed business cooperation with Figaro Systems, Inc. (Santa Fe, New Mexico, USA), innovators and global leaders in multi-lingual text delivery systems for the performing arts, last December. We are going to expand our business much more internationally with Figaro’s Simultex® system that replaces current projected supertitle at the various opera houses and theaters.

Seatback titling system for each patron
Supertitles require all visitors to watch the same titles, in the same location. In contrast, Figaro’s Simultex® seatback systems are installed in front of each audience with individual display. This system solves the problem that there are some spots where supertitles cannot be seen from the seat in the theater. There is no ambient grow for minimum distraction.

Single button operation
Just by pressing a single button, you can easily change channels for preference: only subtitles, subtitles with commentary, translation in foreign languages, captions for hearing impairments, no subtitles on display etc.

Translation in seven different languages
You can select your preferred language in Figaro’s Simultex® System. The maximum seven different languages can be offered during the live performance.

New communication tool with audiences
You have more opportunities to see sponsors’ commercial messages and theaters’ promotional advertising through the Figaro’s Simultex® System before each performance and during intermission. It is also possible to send special service message for VIP seat audiences only.

Comfortable seats from KOTOBUKI
Kotobuki, a top maker of theater seating, continues to design comfortable theater seats with the Figaro’s Simultex® seatback System. We are going to develop the suitable seats for each individual theater around the world.

Enjoy performing arts more!
By using the Figaro’s Simultex® System, all of the audiences at the theater can fully enjoy the performing arts. Audiences who do not often see foreign performing arts like opera performance, ballet performance, musicals and Japanese traditional performing arts like Kabuki, Bunraku (puppet show), Noh (traditional masked dance-drama) can learn a great deal about stage arts. Hearing-impaired people also can enjoy the show with the system. On the other hand, seasoned opera-goers who know much about the theatrical arts and people who are good at languages can turn off their system during the performance.
